These are paintings from the last 30 plus years.  They're a little all over the place as I am.  I haven't found one compelling style or subject that I've mined deeply, although you could probably find similar threads running through all the work.  It might be that I'm just curious, but it probably has to do with my once episodic work schedule.  For 25 of those years I sailed for a living and would be gone for months at a time.  So it was a new start every few months.  Now, in retirement, I generally get into the studio in the winter - summers turn out to be for fishing, golf, gardens, or tennis.  I will try to mix a little background info in with the work.

Stegasaurus on the Veterans Bridge

This first painting, Stegasaurus, was part of a series of a dozen small paintings of prehistoric animals mixed into the  Belfast, Me. landscape. I had a deck of prehistoric flash cards.  There were Brontosauruses, Sabertooth Tigers, Pteradactyls, Wooly Mammoths and more.  They only needed to be extinct.

Painting crockery was a nice mix of graphic color and realism.  Bowls are something, something real, but they're really about potential, which by the time I got around to painting these I was feeling that I was running short on.
